ABSTRACT. The use of international alliances has increased in recent year as a result of globalization.While numerous articles analyzing strategic alliances have been published, few have provided a practical framework for practitioners to follow. This article fills the void in the literature by providing a legal framework for creating an international strategic alliance using a case study of a growing alliance in the global packaging industry.

SOMMAIRE. L'usage d'alliances internationales a récemment augmenté en conséquence de la mondialisation. Tandis que de nombreux articles ont été publiés sur les alliances stratégiques, peu d'entre eux ont offert aux praticiens une démarche pratique à suivre. Le présent article, sur la base d'une étude de cas d'une alliance en développement au sein de l'industrie de l'emballage mondiale, comble ce vide dans la documentation en apportant un cadre légal visant à la création d'une alliance stratégique internationale.
